About Us

Since 1946

Organized gun clubs and shooting sports have been a part of the City of Pitt Meadows culture and history dating as far back as 1939. The Pitt Meadows Gun Club (PMGC) is proud to be a part the City of Pitt Meadows community character and heritage since 1946. In fact, the election of the first PMGC directorate in 1946 was chaired by Dr. Lawrence Broe, a pioneer doctor in the district. Dr. Broe was a charter member of the club and he ushered in the first club Executives which included some historically significant community members and City of Pitt Meadows founding families: McDermott, Barnes, McMyn and Hopcott.

74 years, and here to stay!

The PMGC is a SHOTGUN ONLY trap shooting club. Now whilst we don’t welcome all types of firearms at our club, our doors are wide open to anyone and everyone! The club caters for the beginner to learn to shoot as well as the serious sportsmen who is looking to compete.

The PMGC is a 100% volunteer organisation, with its members devoting 1000’s of hours to the operation of the club, delivering public education seminars and conducting local wildlife enhancement. The club has a growing membership with over a 100 members that range in age from 12 to 83. The membership is comprised of a multicultural mix of men, women and juniors however; seniors dominate the membership representing 25% of the club with many of these seniors having more than 25 years of shooting at the club. Furthermore, families also represent a large portion of the PMGC with 16% of the club membership.
